Paul Blomeley 19.5.1949 — 14.10.2020

PaulBlomeley PB2

Members will be saddened to hear of the death of Paul Blomeley, after a four-year battle with motor neurone disease. Paul rode regularly with our vets’ group on Wednesdays for around a couple of years, until his diagnosis and subsequent decline. He was friendly, approachable and a valued companion on our rides. Paul had been an officer in the Royal Navy and served on one of the UK's nuclear submarines, an occupation that must have called for considerable personal resilience and courage.

After retirement from the Navy he was a lawyer in the Crown Prosecution Service in Manchester. His varied career meant that he had interesting stories to tell, as well as being a good listener; he will be missed by all who knew him and enjoyed conversing with him. Our thoughts are with Paul’s wife Kathryn and their family at this doubly difficult time.
