Tours

On this page we give information about possible tours that members are considering organising. If you are interested in joining a tour then please contact the member listed to indicate your interest. These tours are only open to SMCTC members, and numbers will often be restricted by accommodation or travel constraints. However, in many cases, where there is a lot of interest, the tour might be organised more than once.

For past tours, information is available about travel, accommodation, routes etc, and often GPX files. Examples include the many coast-to-coast routes and the Lon-las-Cymru Welsh end-to-end. If you’d like to give these a go please contact Harry for details.

French Alps, September 2018 (Sara Fagg)

Serre-ChevalierChalet-Charlotte

Sara has suggested a centre-based, club trip to a chalet at Serre Chevalier in the French Alps from 8–15 September 2018. In the summer months the chalet is the base for cycling holidays organised by ciclomagic.com. Used in the winter for skiing, the chalet can accommodate 23 people, but we would only need to book the number of places actually required. Ciclomagic offer a package for £450 that includes accommodation in twin or double rooms, breakfast, and on 6 days it includes afternoon tea and dinner (half-board). Also included are airport transfers, and at least two guided tours per day, with support, and a choice of mountain or valley routes. Good quality carbon bikes can be hired locally for £150 for the week, including bike fitting. Flights are not included. Please contact Sara if interested.
