Sunday rides

Sunday rides typically vary from 50 to 75 miles, at a comfortable average riding pace of 12 to 13 mph. Some rides may be hilly, but this will be  indicated on the Rides List. Rides are covered over the course of a day, usually broken into four sections: start – coffee – lunch – tea – return to  start. Lunch will normally be at a pub or cafe. Where there is a large group, a ride will often be split into groups of up to 10, each led by  an experienced rider and possibly riding at different speeds to provide  flexibility.

We are a mixed group, with considerable touring experience, and some of our riders use electrical assistance.  Bikes are very varied (steel, aluminium, carbon fibre or titanium), but mostly with some low gears available, and some bikes will have bags for light touring.

Meet at 9.00 for 9.15 departure, unless otherwise noted

Be aware that we are now offering two rides on some Sundays, to give a range of speed and distance.

Are you coming? To assist with booking arrangements for lunch stops, please text, WhatsApp or phone the ride leader with as much notice as possible if you want to reserve a place for lunch. Sometimes, lunch places may be limited, though you are still welcome to come if you bring your own food.

GPX files, where mentioned, are available under the RESOURCES menu.
