Tours

We tour in the UK and abroad

On this page we give information about possible tours that members are considering organising. If you are interested in joining a tour then please contact the member listed to indicate your interest. These tours are only open to SMCTC members, and numbers will often be restricted by accommodation or travel constraints. However, in many cases, where there is a lot of interest, the tour might be organised more than once.

For past tours, information is available about travel, accommodation, routes etc, and often GPX files. Examples include the many coast-to-coast routes and the Lon-las-Cymru Welsh end-to-end. If you’d like to give these a go please contact us for details.

With the demise of CTC Cycling Holidays, some of their former tour leaders have started a new venture called Bikexplore, which is now a member of the Travel Trust Association, providing safe booking. For details, see their website here.

Anglesey

Gill Hawley, new owner of the Anchorage Hotel in Anglesey, recently wrote to us inviting our members to stay, and has  promised us cycle friendly facilities and a warm welcome.  This  coincides nicely with Brian Carter organizing a tour to Anglesey this  September, so we're taking her up on the offer.

It  takes place Monday 7th September to Friday 11th September, with 3 days  cycling.

If interested, at this late stage, please contact the hotel directly (01407 740168) to reserve your room.

Isle of Man

Some members of the Club are going to the Isle of Man for a cycling tour in July.

Travelling on Saturday 18 July by ferry, from Liverpool to Douglas Isle of Man.

Returning to Liverpool on Friday 24th July.

Anybody interested should speak to Brian Carter.
