About these rides

South Manchester Wednesday Riders meet at the Konak Cafe, 8 Grove Street, Wilmslow, Wednesday mornings between 9.30 and 9.45. We start with a coffee, ride to a lunch stop and then return to Wilmslow.  We usually depart between 10.00 and 10.15 and ride from 40 to 65 miles, depending on the weather, time of year, and published lunchtime meeting place. We often ride as two or three groups to provide flexibility, with a registered ride leader for each group.

We are a mixed group, with considerable touring experience, and some of our riders use electrical assistance.  Bikes are very varied, but mostly with several low gears available, and usually a saddlebag of some kind for light touring.

In the Summer, (usually) on the last Wednesday of the month, we meet at Walkers Retreat in Hazel Grove around 9:45, leaving at 10:15, for a shorter, but harder, run into the Peak District.  Low gears (or full batteries) will be required, but pace will be slow.
